The Solution oriented Business Challenge.

Obaasima Business Challenge seeks to motivate young women to go into entrepreneurship and address young women’s unemployment challenges by equipping them with business, entrepreneurship, and digital skills that will enable them to take advantage of opportunities offered to innovate, provide solutions to society problems, generate wealth, create jobs and increase the number of sustainable enterprises in Ghana.

Objectives

The Obaasima business challenge seeks to provide young women with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to encourage entrepreneurial success in a variety of settings.
To encourage women to take up entrepreneurship as a solution to unemployment.
To provide financial and technical support for women’s economic well-being.
It serves as an opportunity to reduce the rate of unemployment mostly among young women.
To train young women on how the corporate world work and how initiatives have been put in place to aid women’s development.
To give the motivation to young women to participate fully in the issue of problem-solving in society.

Eligibility

The Obaasima business Challenge will focus on initiatives that address a pressing issue or problem faced by people in the Bono Region. The business ideas are expected to be;

  • Innovative – draw upon new or improved approaches or business models
  • Scalable – demonstrate growth potential and measurable user/market traction
  • Sustainable – have a viable business model
  • Future Ready – can use technology, skills and business models that respond to changing times and needs
  • Environmentally Aware – support the well-being and future of the planet
Entry

The OBC is looking for interested young women who are;

  • Between the ages of 18- 35
  • Ladies who have a strong desire to succeed in entrepreneurship
  • Teams members with education qualifications not less than WASSCE
  • Innovators – able to demonstrate the application of innovation processes
  • Design-thinkers – have a passion for exploring options and testing ideas with users at the center
  • Ideas should be linked to the Sustainable Development Goals

Application for the Obaasima Business Challenge is currently opened for the 2024 Cohort.
