WAN-Hive Ghana marked a significant milestone with the official opening of its new office during a vibrant ceremony that also celebrated the organization’s 4th anniversary. Themed “Her Space, Her Voice, Her Future: Defining Her Path Forward,” the event showcased WAN-Hive’s unwavering commitment to empowering women, fostering innovation, and creating inclusive spaces for growth and leadership.
The ceremony brought together partners, stakeholders, and community members, all united in celebrating WAN-Hive’s transformative journey over the past four years. Delivering the keynote address, a representative of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) lauded WAN-Hive for its impactful contributions. “WAN-Hive is a beacon of hope for young women, driving innovation and community development. As an alumna of UENR, its CEO is a source of inspiration for our students,” the representative noted.
In her address, WAN-Hive Ghana’s CEO, Janat Issifu, reflected on the hub’s inspiring journey. “What began as a vision to provide women with tools, resources, and networks to build meaningful careers and ventures has grown into a movement,” she said. “This new office is more than a physical space—it is a symbol of the dreams we nurture, the voices we amplify, and the futures we are shaping.”
A highlight of the event was the launch of two groundbreaking initiatives:
- Addiz Creatives: A fashion centre for renting professional fashion space equipped with machines and equipment to support designers in deprived communities and offering training programs to bridge the gap between passion and profession for aspiring fashion designers.
- WAN-Hive Multimedia: A creative space featuring a 3D printer maker space, photography studio, graphic design services, and printing services, providing innovators with tools to bring their ideas to life.
The newly inaugurated office is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including training rooms, collaborative workspaces, and resources designed to nurture creativity, innovation, and leadership. It will serve as a central hub for training programs, mentorship opportunities, and community engagement, furthering WAN-Hive’s mission to empower women and drive sustainable development.
The event ended with a tour of the facilities and a networking session, where attendees shared ideas and explored potential collaborations. As WAN-Hive Ghana embarks on this exciting new chapter, it remains steadfast in its vision to shape a brighter future through innovation, resilience, and shared purpose.
